Milestone Academy is scheduled to launch fall of 2017.
The current plan is to open with grades K - 10th.
Current K-8 charter schools in Castle Rock have over 800 students on their waitlists, so it is very difficult to get a spot in these schools. Once students complete 8th grade, they currently have no charter high school option in Castle Rock.
In the last bond issue, DCSD asked for funds to complete an expansion of Castle View High School. That bond issue failed to pass, so there is need for high school space in Castle Rock.
DCSD student enrollment has grown by an average of over 1500 students per year over the past 5 years! With many new homes under construction in Castle Rock, the added space of Milestone Academy will be a great benefit to Castle Rock families.
